Q & A
This is what I've gotten so far. If anyone has anything they'd like to know, feel free to ask.
Q: If ya want to know, why post about it
A: I don't quite get the "if ya want to know" part of that but, on to the "why post about it" I just thought, people post things about themselves, yeah, a lot of people don't post certain things about themselves but, I figure, what the heck, why not? This is a lead into the next post I'm going to write. If I hadn't written this first post, my next post wouldn't make any sense to anyone. I've wanted to write this post since I started my other journal a year ago. I guess basically, I'm trying to open up more to people. I'm kind of a quiet person, and if I'm going to have a blog, I need to be more open about my life and what's going on As you guys are.
Also I can't keep posting about sports stuff in all the posts I make. lol. Sports are a big part of my life but, I'm sure I have lost readers because of it all. So, I'm not going to post much sports stuff anymore. Yes, I'm still going to talk about The Ohio State games and Browns games but, once baseball season starts, I'm only going to make like one post a week on them. same now that Basketball season has started, One post a week.
That may cut my posts WAY down cause I don't do much otherwise but, I'm sure I still have SOME people that read this. I'm also thinking of doing one on the "personal life" thing I've mentioned a couple times but, never elaborated on it.
Q: Is something bothering you about your condition. or was it just a note for us to be aware of?
A: No, nothing is bothering me about it particularly. In some ways it bothers me, yes but, that's just in general I guess. but, it has it's advantages and disadvantages to. Elaborate? sure!
Advantages: I don't have to stand in long lines, people actually move out of my way when I'm coming through (pretty much anyway) Depending on what it is, you can cut in line ahead of people. (even if it was done accidentally)! That just made me think of another post! I'm gonna be busy today!
Disadvantages: Getting into peoples houses can be interesting sometimes cause, obviously, I'm in a wheelchair like I said before, and not everyone has ramps as a matter a fact, no one does. so, they either have to find ply wood boards to "make" one or lift the whole chair up into the house. Not an easy task anymore now that I have a power chair that's about a total weight with me in it, about 200+ LBS easily.
Concerts can be a bit of a pain cause, I'm low and pretty much butt level with people. (like I really want to see someone's rear end)! We had a venue do a renovation and it now has the handicapped seating nearer to the front of the stage rather than the back of the venue where I couldn't see anything. It's much better now but, I'd like it if it just had the very front row as the handicapped seating and have the rest of the people behind me. That would make it the best for seeing what I'm actually there for!
Getting things from higher places is also a disadvantage. No, the whole post I made is not anything anybody needed to be aware of. The only other reason is if I wanted to meet one/some of you I'm not planing on meeting anyone..anytime soon anyway. (Yes, I'd like to be able to meet some of you someday) Lets say I actually DID meet someone in the DL community, I wouldn't want them to be shocked about how I am. Or feel weird, etc. So, that was the real reason for the post in the beginning I guess. I hope all this has made sense to you guys. I tend to confuse MYSELF when I make long posts.
