Wednesday I went to the lawyer and signed my paper for my Uncle. From there, I went to my loan people and gave them the money for the apraisal. They told me that they would let me know when that was going to be done. HAHA! I got a call from the sellers Saturday saying that the apraiser was out Friday and was done. I have to call my loan person and find out how much it was apraised at.

Yesterday I talked to my dad to see if he brought my uncle the paper he needs to sign. He did. BUT their's ALWAYS a catch with him. He knew what changes he wanted done because our lawyers had talked. But, he still wants to look it over. As it looks right now, I won't be getting the the paper back with his signature on it until Wednsday. So, it's gonna take a fucking week to get two damn signautres on one piece of paper. More later HOPEFULLY this week.

I woke up this morning to my phone ringing, it was the sellers. They wanted to know what was going on with me and my uncle. so, I told them what I knew. I guess they got pissed and said if something isn't done ASAP, They are going to put the house on the market. So, after I got off with them, I started making phone calls. Called my Mom, Dad, and Lawyer. End result? It looks like my uncle is going to sign the paper. So, I'm going to the lawyer tomorrow to sign it, then we'll get it to my uncle. I'm also going to try and see if I can get work started on getting the apraisal moving on the house. I see a lot more money being spent tomorrow.....damn!

My Uncle is a fucking moron! What Idiot would make you go to a lawyer to sign a contract just turn around and give it to his own lawyer? That's exactly what this moron did. He now wants more shit changed before he signs it. I had figured from the get go that he would just sign the fucking thing and we'd be on our way. Oh well. atleast I dont have to pay my lawyer anymore money for all the fucking changes he has to do.

Lawyer set up

I called the lawyer and my uncle today. Everything so far is set for Thursday evening to sign this contract. Talked to the sellers today also. I didn't have a date for possession. So, I called to get one. I get the house in my possession on the 16th of Feb. Two weeks from Friday! Still have some I guess minor things to take care of. I think and HOPE I'll be moving/moved in by the end of Feb.

So, Thursday I went and met with the lawyer. Spent about I'd say a half hour talking to him and I'll have the contract with for my uncle either Tuesday or Wednsday. In the mean time, I have to call my loan guy cause the lawyer wants to talk to him about some stuff. So, now that I think about it, I might be LUCKY if I have it done by Wednesday. This shit's been going on for almost a year now. I think I might be nearing the finish line....I hope!

Talked to my dad, my uncle is going to come out Thursday after work to sign things. As long as the lawyer can do it. I gotta call him Monday and see.

House Update

I got an appointment with a lawyer tomorrow to get that paper for my uncle done. I also got a call from the seller tonight. She said that the updates/repairs they wanted to do is done, and they will have the rest of their stuff out next weekend. And, If I wanted, I could start moving my stuff in. I won't do that until I have my loan stuff done though. :-) More tomorrow probably and much more later when I have stuff.

So, I didn't end up going to see my girlfriend for New Years which was probably a good thing since she ended up getting a upper resp. infection which, I would of ended up coming home with. I'm looking now to try and go down in March. We'll see I guess.

Nothing too new with the house right now. I'm still trying to get a hold of a lawyer so I can get that agreement for my uncle.

One thing I did find out though, my friends that are selling me the house are putting in new toilets too. Works for me! Im waiting for them to finish some repairs so I can give my loan guy all the paper work so we can do the inspection, and all that other fun shit. I guess the new target date atleast in my mind, is going to be late January, early February.

I'll have the house purchase agreement Friday. I talked to my loan guy yesterday, once I get the PA and my uncles contract done, I COULD be closing on the house the 10th of January. :-)

I'm thinking about going down to TX to see my girlfriend for new years. I'd be leaving the 29th and coming back the 7th. That's still up in the air at this point though. We'll see.

I really need to keep up with this thing....

I believe I told you all about the house I was trying to buy since April-ish.
Well, about two weeks ago or so, after trying to find someone to co-sign for me, something actually went in my favor. Thanks to my uncle, I got pre-approved for a loan. So, with that done finally, I just have to get a purchase agreement. That's the only snag and the sellers are holding it up cause they don't have one ready. Makes me a bit mad. I was hoping to be in by Christmas...looks like it won't happen til around the 1st of the year, If I'm lucky. Bunch of roadblocks, then some smooth sailing and now more roadblocks. I'll keep you more up to date about what's going on with that, I swear!

I never was be able to figure him out, and I probably never will. The only thing I don't get is, apparently some people had some inside links though cause it wasn't supposed to be launched until Today (the 2nd) but, He' made a post yesterday and had comments. It's likely more shows will be added between November 1st - 19th before this gig with rumors of shows in Florida.

To Move Or Not To Move, That Is The Question

I have a decision to make, and I am open to any words of wisdom. I met a great lady in the end of March early April, but, we seemed to lose contact until the begining of June. That was a funny story, she was online but having problems with her connection so, the next night when she was at work, I IMed her and said something like "having problems staying online?" she appologized, and we had a laugh about it, If I remember correctly.

We have spent HOURS online and on the phone every single day since shortly after that conversation at work. I remember the night before i got my Taz tattoo, we spend her whole shift talking tats and stuff. It was great.

We have a lot of the same likes and dislikes, and some that we give eachother shit about. Near the end of June, we decided to start a relationship, things have been going GREAT. From July 4th - July 22nd we spent OVER 100 HOURS on the phone, that is NOT a joke. We started making plans to meet.

Finally we did so July 31st. she stayed here til Aug. 1oth. I was probably slightly nervous but, once she got here, I was fine. For both of us, it was like we had known eachother for years. When she got here, She got out of the car and was smiling, as was I. Before she got here, we made a list of things to do while she was here. That we saw went out the window like 2 days after she was here. Why? cause we didn't follow ANY of it. we got like a handful of the things on the list done. and that was it.

So, After her time here, it was time for her to go back home....That is a day I was dreading from the day she got here but, it had to be done. So, she had a 5:55 PM flight that last day which btw left a few mins late. Anyway, we get to the airport, we're sitting in the parking lot, she gets her bags checked, and I was gonna take her to a point that I couldn't go past anymore, whatever that may have been. That didn't happen, In fact, the fucking police officer made us leave since we didn't have a flight. Asshole...anyway, we're standing there, She's smoking, I'm getting more and more upset, we're hugging, I start crying, she starts crying, I gave her literally the biggest hardest hug I've probably ever gave anyone and then I get back in the car cause asshole cop is bitching again. She starts walking in..we drive off.. I almost beeped the horn to have her look back one last time, but, I didn't.

When she gets back home, we continue our everyday on the phone routine. We then find out her job screwed her over and she was back within 5 days. She drove 20 hours STRAIGHT to come see me. Part of the reason she drove was because she got a new car that she knew I'd like, and boy did I! She got here about 7:30ish and we were both tired as hell cause I was watching mapquest to see where she was at. When she pulls in, my first thought was "slow the hell down!" why did i say that? because of the kind of car she got. What does she have" a 40th aniv. edition 04 yellow Mustang!

So, we're sitting in the parking lot, I tell her how she looked like "hell twice over". Then the whole hugs and kisses stuff, you know, all the stuff you guys don't wanna hear about. LOL. We had fun again with eachother, we didn't do any kind of plans to stick to we just went with the flow an whatever happened, happened. Her last day again here, she wanted to be on the road by noon cause she had shit to do back home that following day. well, she didn't get out of here til 1:30. We were both stalling cause yet again, we didn't want to be seperated. She left, I came back in, started crying I called her, she tells me she started crying and almost turned around, kinda wish she would of in a bit of a selfish way. So, we talked on and off her whole way back home, and then the whole phone/net routine has continued again. There isn't a day we don't talk one way or another.

So, now that i've probably bored the hell out of you guys, let's get to the point shall we?" I don't remember if I've mentioned this at all to you guys but, I'm looking at buying a house here it's totally accessable and ready for me. But now, I have my girlfriend and I want to be close to her. She's got 15 months of school to do and I don't want to wait that long to be with her, I don't want to just see her on breaks. I have an option to move to her and live which I really would like to do so I don't have to just see her on breaks. What would YOU do in my case?

I went out to the Mall the other day, found a Wilsons Leather and went looking for the Lep jacket. I asked the guy if they had one, I looked at it I asked him the size, and he said DOUBLE XL! and it was the ONLY one left! I was PISSED! I'll swim in that thing! I'm gonna try and hit another mall here in the next few days and see if I can find it again. I just wanted to look at it this time anyway, I was debaiting as we were looking for it if I wanted to buy it.

By the way, I went to my tattoo guy the other day, I got my Lep tattoo! :-D WOOHOO!! I got the Def Leppard Logo in Pyrite font, the ADRENALIZE eye, and the date of the first Lep show I went to, which just happens to be the Adrenalize tour..(which also happens to be in the pyrite font) hehe. I'm going to HOPE and PRAY I can go backstage in Cleveland, I want to show it off (well, ok, I don't really want to "show it off" because I am sure they have seen thir fair share of Lep tattoos on people.) I want to see if they remember the VENUE they played at. Why? because the building no longer exists. I know the memory of those guys, I bet they do remember it.

Why am I bitching about this? well, other than the fact that it is annoying as all hell to have a non up to date site. The nerd that is running the site is days behind on setlist and he, she? had made a comment in a thread that if you want to find the up to date setlists to go to the tour page. WRONG! don't go to the tour page. the tour page ISN'T up to date! MY tour thing is more up to date than DL.coms is!

Jeff Scott Soto to assume JOURNEY lead singer duties starting on July 7th in Bristow, VA due to Steve Augeri throat infection.Due to a chronic throat infection, Journey's lead singer, Steve Augeri, has been forced to leave the band's current nationwide tour with Def Leppard. Jeff Scott Soto, who has previously performed with Journey guitarist Neal Schon, will assume the band's lead singer duties starting with the July 7th show in Bristow, VA. Steve Augeri's condition will be closely monitored by his physician to determine when he may be able to rejoin the tour.According to Journey, "Steve's been suffering with an acute throat condition since before we kicked off the tour with Def Leppard. Steve Augeri sitting out this tour is another chapter in this band's long history.Augeri was recruited into the Journey ranks in 1998 after Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain decided they wanted to move forward with the band without signature member Steve Perry. Augeri had to work with a fanbase that was polarized by the idea of a Perry-less Journey. There were those that remained loyal to Perry, but Steve worked hard at winning fans over and did so with his natural charm and likeability.

Steve Augeri's is today regarded as much for being the 'good guy' as he is for being the 'new singer' and he now has a passionate and loyal following of his own. He truly is a nice guy and someone that has made time for fans and worked hard at overcoming being known as 'the guy that replaced Steve Perry.'Augeri's contribution to the band to date has forever been captured on the acclaimed, and quite superb, Arrival album and last year's more diverse Generations release.

Steve and the band as a whole has had a grueling tour schedule to adhere to over the last few years. Steve has been suffering vocal problems since the outset of this current tour and no one can blame him or the band for this decision. I have seen Jeff live 11 times now and haven't seen a better performer on stage.His energy is undying and his stage persona totally engaging. I know Journey fans will be saddened by Steve Augeri not completing this tour, but Jeff will continue the legacy with pride.

Most regular readers of this site will know of Jeff and his reputation. On a personal note, I'm thrilled for Jeff – he is one of the good guys.Those that have followed him for as long as he has been in the business know what a hard working, sincere and honest guy he is. For those less familiar with the name Jeff Scott Soto, who is he and what's his background? He made his debut in 1984, fronting guitar hero Yngwie J Malmsteen's band for 2 studio albums and a live release.His main band through the years has been Talisman, a hard rock band featuring some of Sweden's finest musicians. Talisman has just finished recording their 8th studio album, due for release later this year.Another band Eyes were signed by a major label in 1990 and their debut album created quite a buzz before disbanding prematurely.Jeff also recorded 3 albums with German guitarist Axel Rudi Pell – 3 albums that remain favourites among both Soto and Pell fans alike.

Jeff has recorded 3 solo albums – the latest of which is Lost In The Translation, which features a guest appearance from Neal Schon on the track Believe In Me.Lost In The Translation is a hard rock album through and through. The decision for Steve to return home was obviously one of the most difficult ever made by the band and management. Bringing in a replacement frontman at this juncture is a big move and I give huge credit to all involved for the decision they have made.Jeff Scott Soto is a bold, but obvious choice. Jeff is one of the greatest frontmen I have ever seen. He will win over Journey fans and he will do a phenomenal job for this great rock band.

I am hoping this move by the band will now calm the message board wars that have been raging for the last month or so. There are no winners in fans fighting each other and while there will always be some that resent this or any band's decisions, I for one hope that the decision taken this week will be seen as a positive step in getting the band back on track for the future.

Lep tour could be going down in flames

Looks like there might have been some truth to those Journey tape rumors. Now that the whole thing was exposed, and Steve is having to sing, he can't! I'm wondering if there is any connection between this and the Lep forum being down. They've been trying to squash the rumors for a month, deleting and locking threads over the tapes. Perhaps they knew they couldn't keep this one tied down and decided to just pull the forum until it blows over, if it does. I'm wondering IF this tour won't be pulled. If Journey can't perform as expected, with this being a co-headliner, I can see ticket refunds coming soon.

Journey hit the stage first with Faith in the Heartland and it was immediately clear that something was wrong. Augeri showed up in Raleigh---his voice did not. To say he was having a difficult time would be putting it mildly. He was struggling. The extent would not be totally realized for a few songs though. Explanations would come later, but there was a problem.

Be Good To Yourself started and the after the first line of the song, Augeri signaled to Deen Castronovo to take over and Augeri went backstage. I have heard Deen sing a few times, and he was on tonight. Augeri returned after a little while and he and Deen went back and forth on lead vocals for the remainder of the song while Augeri tried to coax his voice into action.

Ask the Lonely came next and was somewhat of a breather with it’s lower-pitched vocal. Augeri did better on this song, but he was still having major problems. Throughout the song, Deen supplied backup and occasionally doubled Augeri’s voice. Only the Young came next with Deen singing lead. It didn’t look as if it was planned for Deen to sing on this, but after the problems Augeri was having, it wasn’t a surprise. Journey has been changing the songs Deen would sing in a show, so anything is possible. Augeri needed a breather anyway.

As the song ended, Neal Schon started up his guitar solo. With his choice of playing the Star Spangled Banner at concerts over the past few years, it wasn’t hard to guess what was coming. Tonight’s version was inspired with Ross Vallory and Deen giving the “we’re not worthy” bows towards the end. Stone in Love was next and Steve Augeri was back, but Deen took over shortly in to the song singing the majority of the lead vocals from there on. Wheel in the Sky followed, and Augeri took the lead in this, but Deen was still doing a lot of doubling parts and singing the high parts leaving Augeri for the lower notes.

By now, everyone was fully aware there was something serious going on, but the show continued. Lights was next, and Augeri signaled for Deen. They went back and forth on lead vocals throughout the song. Near the end of the song, Augeri went back to the drums, signaled to Deen and the two of them went offstage. It was plainly obvious there was a problem. Augeri’s voice was not getting any better and he was really struggling. You could feel the tension in the air. Augeri said something and Deen’s reaction had to be seen to believed. Basically, it was “you have got to be kidding me!”. What was said would be revealed very soon. Augeri disappeared into the wings of the stage and the stage was set.

For anyone who is not aware, Deen Castronovo has been doing lead vocals for several years now, but had always been behind the drum seat, playing the drums and singing. Tonight, that changed.

A drum tech came out and got in the drummers seat and Deen made his way out to the front of the stage as Open Arms had started. Open Arms isn’t a very drum-intensive song, and there are no drums until the end of the song. Ross Vallory was near the drum kit trying to help the new guy on drums as Deen was out front with just a microphone singing the song. Anyone could tell that Deen was extremely nervous being alone out front, but the crowd loved it. The applause at the end was geniune.

Every Generation started up next, and Augeri was back, this time with guitar in tow. Jonathan Cain took lead vocals, and Augeri did some backup on the chorus. Chain Reaction followed with Augeri singing lead, but he was still having problems. He was giving his all, but the voice just wasn’t there. His voice was improved from the start of the show, but he was still struggling.

As the song ended, Augeri addressed the crowd and informed them of the situation that was occurring on stage. What follows isn’t exactly verbatim, but was written down immediately after he said it, so it is VERY close. “You might have noticed I haven’t been myself. I’ve been a little under the weather lately, so here comes Deen Castronovo to save the day. Give him a lot of love”. That was the intro to Faithfully, and once again, Deen was center stage, and the tech was on the drums. Deen was less nervous this time, trying to get the audience to sing, but still far from comfortable. Ross was at the drums once again helping the tech through the song.

Don’t Stop Believin’ was next and Augeri was back once again. His voice had improved, but he was still signaling for Deen to take the high parts. Separate Ways followed and Augeri’s voice was on the rebound. He was far from perfect, but was still giving 110%. He would nail one note, then his voice would die on the next, but he didn’t give up. Any Way You Want It was next, and the voice continued to improve. Deen continued helping, but Augeri’s voice was finally starting to come around. By this point, he was hitting about 70-80% of the high notes. Early in the show would have been maybe 15-20%. Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin closed the show out with Augeri finally in command.

As the band left the stage, Augeri and Deen embraced for probably the 5th time that night. It was obvious how much Augeri appreciated it. Without Deen being able to sing lead vocals, everyone knew the concert probably would have been cancelled. Augeri knew that better than anyone else.

They say that heroes arise in the time of need. Journey encountered that tonight, and Deen Castronovo stepped up. If there was ever a case for Journey to need a backing tape for Augeri, tonight was the case. There was no backing tape used, and everyone was better for the result.

I don’t know what will happen for the rest of the tour. Journey has a major problem if Augeri has another night like this one, but for those in the right time and place, they saw history being made. Tonight’s show wasn’t what anyone was expecting, but I’ll take this over a pre-recorded experience any day. After seeing the reaction of the crowd when Deen finished Open Arms at center stage, I don’t think I’m alone in that thought.

DL Rock Honors performance

Ok, So by now we've all seen it a million and one times....I know I have. LOL So, I thought The Performance of "Photograph" by The All American Rejects SUCKED! they were flat and missed chords! Sure, I guess Photograph is a hard song to do, and I'm bias cause I know when something is fucked up cause I've listened to Photograph and all the other songs as much as any die hard has, so, I think I know the song by heart and know when something is wrong. Could I play it myself? hell no! but, that's just because I haven't had guitar lessons and can't play ANYTHING for shit! I thought the drummer was pretty clever though with the UJ shorts!

ROA was, well, ROA! LOL. I liked 20th Century Boy. I was surprised (again!) that they did that. I thought for sure they were going to do Rock On! (I thought for sure they were going to do it for Leno, so, I was BIG TIME surprised when they did!) I just went and found Rocket on vh1.com HOLY SHIT! ok, first of all, the good, I LOVED the guitar "battle" that Phil and Viv did! that was great! the Bass part before that started ROCKED! Joe sounded a little flat on Rocket but, it was still good. All in all, the guys did it again! fantastic job!

Now the bad...GET RID OF THE DAMN BACK UP SINGERS! I thought hearing them in 20th Century Boy was bad but, ROCKET????? JESUS CHRIST! they totally drounded the guys out! and they were flat too! You can see Phil looking at them a few times I hope he turned to them and said "you are flat!" I hope to god it was the label's idea and not the bands idea to have these girls. If it was the band, they need to retire NOW! Ok, rant over!

So, I haven't mentioned this cause, I guess I just didn't want to jinx myself, lol. but, I'm looking at buying a house. It's the parents of a friend of mines house. The friend was handicapped so the house is acessable already. The friend has since passed, and his parents are moving. So, I'm trying to buy the house so I can get the hell out of where I am. I'm trying to get a loan but, I have no credit. so, it's a little hard. I'm gonna go to my bank hopefully sometime this week, and see what I can do. I'll keep you all posted on that.

Saturday, I went and bought tickets to the Nickelback show that will be here July 3rd. Damn were those expensive!!

Since I was already on a spending spree, I decided I'd go and get my sister an early Birthday gift. Her Birthday is in July. Now, she's got herself a laptop. A funny story happened with that. me and her boyfriend went out and did all this (the tix and the laptop) Her boyfriend and I were sitting up at the bar (Yeah, 1:00 in the after noon no less lol) and we were talking about her birthday and I asked if they had anything planned for it, and he had said nothing yet. So, I mentioned to him about her always wanting a laptop and he had said that she had mentioned it to him a few times. So, I said, lets go up to BestBuy and see what they have. So, we did and got one. We came back here, called her and Lied to her to get her to come up here, cause she probably wouldn't of come up here that quick if she didn't think it was all that important. So, when she got here, she didn't know what to say! It was great! She freakin owes me now! LOL!!

I had a chance to speak with Vivian Campbell in the green room of "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" Friday at CBS Television City in Los Angeles prior to Def Leppard's first national television appearance in support of the forthcoming "Yeah!" The band taped a two-song set later in the afternoon for broadcast at a future date. When asked about the set length for both Journey and Def Leppard, Vivian clarified that each band will perform 80 minutes each, not 90 as has been previously reported. I also asked if he and his band mates still intended to play five songs from "Yeah!" He said "Hellraiser" would open each set and that they also will perform "Hanging On The Telephone" and (from the last tour) "Rock On" and "No Matter What."Since they have rehearsed the song, Vivian said that he hoped they will be able to squeeze in "20th Century Boy," but "does not see how they will have time." He also said that "Joe (Elliott) will not be doing a lot of talking. We are going to play as many songs as we can." Campbell also stated that the band will not be performing "Foolin'" or anything from either "Slang" or "X."

This is the worst rant that I think that I have ever read. Just where in the hell does this fool hang out? I would love to go onto the website where he hangs out and tell the sob off at great length. What a bleeding retard!!!! Maybe he thinks that all wheel chair people are worthless? Remind him about such "useless" people as Stephen Hawkings, and others who have accomplished a lot despite their "difficulties."
It is, in most cases, these difficulties can be looked at as life changing challenges, not disabilities.You are only disabled if you think that you are worthless. This disability of the feeling of worthlessness can and often does come to ambulatory persons, more often than not. It is usually the individual who has to resort to profanity who has a lack of understanding and, perhaps, the ability to understand that different is not bad or evil, it is just a different way in which to live. That is what makes everyone special in the eyes of the God and the Goddess.
Are you disabled? Hmmm....... if you have your own peace of mind and are able to make decisions on your own, if you can get to where you want to go without too much assistance (we all need help once in a while --- all of us), then you are not disabled.

There's a dude I saw Friday, let's call him "Wheelchair Guy That Pissed Me Off Today", or WGTPMOT™. This motherf--ker is always being negative, sitting around, just looking sad. Doesn't he have the common courtesy to know that this affects others and brings them down? Well f--king OF COURSE he does. That's the f--king point. "I'm in a wheelchair and this makes me sad, and it should make you sad too"... f--k YOU BUDDY!!! It's FRIDAY!!! I heard today that tickets sales are through the roof, including 15,000 alone in St Louis in just 4 days of sales. A Girl, A Man (Raze) And A Leppard

Former Girl turned Def Leppard guitarist, Phil Collen, took valuable time away from the band’s busy schedule of photo shoots, rehearsals and other preparations that go along with a big summer tour (with Journey) and the release of a new covers album (Yeah!) to talk about his new band Man-Raze and toss in a quote or two about Girl and Def Leppard.

BW&BK: Let’s talk about Man-Raze. How does a Girl (Simon Laffy), a Sex Pistol (Paul Cook) and a (Def) Leppard get together and start making music?

PHIL COLLEN: I was over in London (my dad past away a year and a half ago) and I was over there for a couple of months just hanging out with my dad and I just re-connected with Simon. We had always been in touch, but musically... even when he was in Girl we never used to write together, but we like the same stuff. We’re both huge (The) Police fans and love really good reggae. Anyways, I was with Simon and said ‘it would be fucking great to have a band. A three piece... a heavy rock version of The Police or something and it would be great if Paul Cook was the drummer.’ Then I bumped into Paul in the street. I kind of knew him since we’re all from London and had bumped into him over the years. I really liked his playing. The whole vibe of the (Sex) Pistols stuff and his sound. When he hits the snare you can tell it’s him, it’s just really unique. So, we got together, wrote a couple of songs and rehearsed and it was like ‘bang’. It just fucking clicked and was really really cool. It just had this energy, so we carried on recording and we’d done our first gig last July. After, we had done that, our sound just morphed. It was a bit of the Pistols plus a bit of Nirvana, and a bit of The Police... I tried to keep the Def Leppard thing out of it because we didn’t want to go there really. It’s not that kind of band. I’m the singer in this band and it’s a three piece. It’s not multi-tracked guitars... it’s stuff you can do as a classic three piece. That in itself was very rewarding ‘cause I had never really done that. It’s incredible fucking freedom.”

BW&BK: Was it refreshing to record like that instead of the Def Leppard way?

PC: “Very refreshing. I do get a bit frustrated with the Def Leppard way of recording. Some is self-inflicted... I’m one of the main writers/ producers of the band and over the years we’ve kind of gotten into that... So, the cool thing about this (Man-Raze) is that we wanted to record it a different way. We would only do one or two takes so you get the excitement. Even if it was rough around the edges, you make up for it... I honestly believe you lose so much of the spirit by doing it too many times.”

BW&BK: I believe that. Some of the best albums were made in a short period of time. Sabbath would lock themselves away for nine hours and come out with Paranoid or whatever. I spoke to Vivian (Campbell) when he did his solo album and he also said he was frustrated with the Def Leppard way. Do you think the ‘Def Leppard way’ might change?

PC: “We keep saying this.. yeah I do. From my point of view, it’s essential. It’s a whole different story if you’re dealing with “Mutt” Lange – he can tell when someone’s not got the vibe going and will say ‘try this’. He’s the only person in the world I’ve ever met that can actually do that and he’s very diplomatic about it. He’ll never say ‘this is really sucking and you sound like a bunch of pansies,’ but he’ll say ‘let’s try this. Try putting your finger out. Try singing this. Try singing this a bit harder. Try and back-up on this syllable.’ Just amazing shit and it usually works.”

BW&BK: Sounds like you miss working with Mutt. Do you want to work with him again?

PC: “YEAH! Would love to, but he’s pretty busy. He’s got the whole Shania thing.”

BW&BK: Let’s talk about you taking the vocal duties in Man-Raze. You’ve done some with Def Leppard (like 'Miss You In A Heartbeat' live). Would you like to sing more in Def Leppard and how is it singing in Man-Raze. It puts more focus on you.

PC: “It’s very exciting and everybody said I’d get real nervous the night we’d done the gig, but it was fun and I really enjoyed it. The great thing with Def Leppard is that ‘the vocals’ is actually an instrument. Joe is the lead singer and we’re this other instrument that accompanies him or plays off of him and that’s part of the sound of Def Leppard. I don’t really want to sing in Def Leppard because I’m really happy with what I do vocally and I really like the way Joe sounds. He’s unique and that’s the sound. However, I am singing a song on the new album.”

BW&BK: You’re doing the Rod Stewart cover ‘Stay With Me’ on the new album. Let’s talk about the covers album in a minute, but for Man-Raze – did you want to be the singer or were you not able to find...

PC: “Oh, I wouldn’t want to find a singer because I can sing (without blowing my own trumpet) better than most singers in bands. I do it all the time and I’ve had great coaching from Mutt and all of that. Mutt is the most amazing singer. So, that wasn’t even an issue. A lot of musician/guitarist get very frustrated because they can’t find their own voice and the classic example of that would be The Who’s Pete Townsend. He wrote these great songs... lovely everything about them lyrically, passion, but his voice sucked. In his mind’s eye his voice sounds like Roger Daltrey so that’s perfect. Won’t Get Fooled Again is like Pete Townsend channeling through Roger Daltrey. I know loads of guitar players that have to get someone in their band like Slash, Steve Vai, or Jimmy Page... it’s really frustrating. It’ a confidence thing in that they just haven’t had enough experience in actually getting up in front of a room of people and just going ‘waaaaaaa’. It’s very easy to hide behind a guitar.”

BW&BK: Let me ask you a question that’s ‘off the map’- you reconnected with Simon (from Girl). Do you still talk to Phil Lewis (Girl / LA Guns singer)? Do you think you might ever work with him again?

PC: “We’ve just done an interview with Classic Rock magazine and he’s great... he’s cool. The weird thing is that he lives close to me, but no... I can’t see that happening... the Girl thing.”

BW&BK: Not necessarily Girl. Just any project... What are your thoughts of LA Guns?

PC: “I think they’re great and for Phil it’s really really good. That’s his thing and that’s where he went with it. After Girl, I don’t think it would really work.”

BW&BK: You don’t want to put the mascara back on?

PC: “I’ve actually gotten pretty comfortable putting on (inaudible) and people are like ‘hey Phil, you back in Girl again?’ .... Part of the reason, is that we were 20 years old, anorexic, inexperienced and pretty debauched... That’s what GIRL was about and you know I haven’t had a drink in what 18 years? I’m a vegetarian and all this shit just doesn’t go with it. I think everyone’s moved on and for it to really work it has to have those elements.”

BW&BK: To work in Girl – you have to get totally wasted...

PC: “You have to get fucked up...yeah!”

BW&BK: Back to Man-Raze. After you finished the Def Leppard/ Bryan Adams tour, you had some down time and the idea was to complete a full album... now, you’re back with Leppard. Is their a full length? When is it coming out....

PC: “ I was talking to Paul (Cook – drummer) a minute ago and we’re going to cut four more tracks live.”

BW&BK: Live on a stage or live in the studio?

PC: “In the studio. That’s the magic of that band is us playing live and the sound it gives. We’ve got three new songs and two we are going to redo. They’re going to be completely different versions. We just have to figure out when. We’ll do the live backing tracks next month (April). Then we’ll go to Joe’s house in Dublin because he’s been gracious enough to invite us to go play there. He’s been really supportive which is really nice.”

BW&BK: Do you think the album will be out by Christmas 2006?

PC: “I think it’ll come out before that. We’ve got all the stuff, but I think it would be really good if we had some backing at a real label. It would get a little more profile.”

BW&BK: Do labels still provide backing?

PC: “They don’t. They certainly didn’t do it for Def Leppard.”

BW&BK: Or Vivian’s album...

PC: "No... No – they’re very bad at that, but what’s the alternative?”

BW&BK: I hope it gets a major label release. What are we looking at? Ten... twelve songs?

PC: “We’ve actually got seventeen to go actually. We’ll choose the best twelve I imagine.”

BW&BK: Let me ask you a few Def Leppard questions – last year you toured with Bryan Adams. In the ‘80s, Bryan Adams and Def Leppard were two different worlds. This summer it’s Journey. Back in the day, you were lumped in with the Bon Jovis, Motley Crues, Cinderellas and all that. How did it come about going out with Bryan Adams and now Journey? Are you excited?

PC: “I’m excited for the tour. Journey is a class act. The reason that Nirvana and all these bands came out was because it got so lame in the ‘80s. It was all the bands copying – first Def Leppard then Bon Jovi then da da da. It just goes down and down and down.”

BW&BK: Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake are definitely “A” list bands... then you got into the “B” list bands and then into the “C” list bands like Pretty Boy Floyd and Tuff...

PC: “Well, I think that was an ‘F’ list band. Look Journey is a class act band and whether you like them or not they’re fucking great. I was in England, just before I joined Def Leppard and ‘Who’s Crying Now’ came out and I remember thinking ‘this is cool. This is just fucking phenomenal,’ and now we’re going out with them and it’s really cool and way better than some of these packages... some of these old...”

BW&BK: Well, it’s different and that’s what I like. Plus, you’re attracting two separate crowds...

PC: “Absolutely.”

BW&BK: Is there anything else you can tell me about the package? Do you want to see yourself doing more packages with bands that you were not associated with in the ‘80s?

PC: “This all came about because of Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan going out together. You wouldn’t really pair them off, but it was such a successful tour because it peaked people’s curiosity. It done great and the Bryan Adams tour really puts us back on the map. So, this is just moving up. I just saw Aerosmith and they had Lenny (Kravitz) opening up for them. That’s cool and it’s slightly different and it works. When I first came to the States I would see these classic line-ups with different bands. We’ve done shows with us, India Arie and Train and people have gone fucking nuts. People who wouldn’t go see one of those bands just had a really good time when we’re all together. They actually appreciate it for what it is and being a music fan... I love that shit!.”

BW&BK: What’s the format? A flip flop like with Bryan Adams...

PC: “No, we’re the headliner.”

BW&BK: All the way through?

PC: “Yeah! WE’RE DEF FUCKING LEPPARD! (laughs)”

BW&BK: Are you doing 50 minutes? 70 minutes?

PC: “We’ll split it because they’ve got so many great hits. What happened with the Bryan Adams thing is that we both ran out of time and we’d both go ‘oh, fuck. Is that it?’ So, unfortunately, it’ll be 90 minutes each. It would be great if we could do two hours each, but you know... there you go.”

BW&BK: 90 minutes works for me. It’ll be a fantastic tour. Let’s talk quickly about the covers album,Yeah!. Started off with a little controversy. It was leaked went around the world, hasn’t been released, but it’s coming out soon...

PC: “Yes, May the 15th.”

BW&BK: Has it changed? There were fourteen songs that were leaked. Have you done more? Re-done them? Has it changed?

PC: “We’ve re-done them and I actually can’t believe that anyone would even bother having that (a leaked copy). It’s stuff with a bunch of things missing... not real drum tracks with a crappy drum sound. Now, it actually sounds like a Def Leppard album. A lot of people are surprised by that. They thought it was just a covers album. Well, no and for someone who doesn’t know these songs they’ll go - this is a Def Leppard record.”

BW&BK: How many songs?

PC: “I think it’s fourteen.”

BW&BK: I hear on your version of ‘Stay With Me’ you sound a lot like Rod Stewart...

PC: “Apparently. I think it’s done in ‘the spirit of’. Not on every song and some of the songs we completely changed, but on that one...”

BW&BK: Tried to stay to the original...

PC: “Yeah, loved it. It was great.”

BW&BK: Covers album in May, tour to support... then what? An album of all new material?

PC: “Yesterday, I was doing a bit of that. I was demoing for the new record. We’re going to start doing it on tour. I actually recorded part of the Yeah! album backstage at some of the gigs – straight into a lap top MAC and ‘boom’ there you go. So, this is going to be lots of fun actually to start a record on tour.”

BW&BK: Which you’ve never done. You’ve always locked yourself away in a room. You’ve never done the ‘road thing’.

PC: “No and it’s about time we change that because it got to the point where it’s a little bit uninspiring. You get off tour and ‘it’s ok come up with some ideas,’ and that’s so fucking bogus. The best time a band... is really cooking is when they’re on tour. Especially half way into the tour, but when you come off you lose all of that fire, enthusiasm and motivation and I feel that’s really important. Just like with the Man-Raze thing is to capture it early on and to catch that spark... that disappears otherwise.”

BW&BK: Well, I hope like Man-Raze or Vivian’s album that you can capture something live or as live as possible with Def Leppard...

PC: “Absolutely and I think there’s ways. On Yeah! me and Viv played some of the stuff together which we normally wouldn’t do. Everything is completely separate and you’re playing along to an imaginary drummer and you have to pretend that’s Rick and it’s just weird. At least, with the two of us we got a little vibe going which was very cool. So, the basic rhythm track was that.”

BW&BK: When will we see a new album out?

PC: “Probably next year. To be quite honest, we’ll be touring this year, but I think we may have a song or two ready.”

BW&BK: Throw them in the tour set?

PC: “I don’t know... maybe! It would be really cool, but the problem with that is that you give so much away. But perhaps that would be a good thing. It could be a fun thing to do and we’ll certainly do them at soundchecks.”

BW&BK: Next year, will be the 20th anniversary of Hysteria.

PC: “’87, yeah that’s right actually. Fuck... wow....”

BW&BK: Anything planned? And a new album might be well placed or very much mis-placed depending on how you look at it, but will there be a box-set? A special 20th anniversary tour? A remastered re-release with extra tracks?

PC: “All the above, but we’ve actually been talking... Cheap Trick done this thing a few years ago where they went to select theatres and played a whole album.”

BW&BK: I’m a big Cheap Trick fan...

PC: “They’re actually touring with us this year in England. They did some shows on this tour we’ve just done. They were fucking killer and on the last night Joe & I went up and did a song with them. That was really cool.”

BW&BK: They did a tour where they did three albums from top to bottom. Do you think you might want to do a tour where you play all of Hysteria?

PC: “I’d like too, but that would be a challenge. That’s very much a studio album. We went in with no regard for ‘how are we going to play this live?’ In fact, we’d done Love Bites and it was such a studio song... and the song went to #1 and we were like ‘fuck, we’re going to have to play this thing live.’ It’s all just done in the studio – me and Steve had done the original guitar tracks together and then everything else was just stacked up and all these different parts and vocals and stuff... trying to sing and play that stuff is the real killer.”

BW&BK: I think ‘Excitable’ would be very difficult to bring to a stage...

PC: “We’ve done that one and it’s ok. We just really struggled with 'Love Bites' and now we do it easy since we figured out who does what parts and what parts actually work in a live format. That whole album, you’ve got other songs...”

BW&BK: Like 'Run Riot'...

PC: “We’ve played that live – that’s pretty simple. There’s something else that was a struggle...”

BW&BK: There’s 'Don’t Shoot Shotgun', 'Gods Of War', 'Love & Affection'...

PC: “We actually played that at the Donnington festival before we recorded it.”

BW&BK: So, is there some kind of special 20th anniversary Hysteria thing?

PC: “Oh, I hope so. We’ve been talking about doing this gig thing. We’ll do Hysteria this night and Pyromania that night and perhaps the greatest hits the third night. So, you’re in a town for three nights.”

BW&BK: That would be fantastic...

PC: “It would be fun, huh? And in theatres so it’s more close or something. Just something not ordinary. The Cheap Trick thing was a great idea, but it would be a lot of rehearsing for the band.”

BW&BK: I say start at High ‘N Dry, Pyromania and cap it off with Hysteria. There’s your tour.

PC: “Absolutely.”

BW&BK: Def Leppard box set?

PC: “We’d spoke about that a bunch of times actually and we kind of got shot down... it’s a bit funny when you deal with labels because you’re dealing with a business entity... but from an artist’s point of view, we would love to do that.”

BW&BK : Any last words?

PC: “I’m excited about going on tour, but I’m really excited about the Yeah! album because it turned out exactly like we wanted it to and I’m ultra-excited about Man-Raze. If I have enough energy and when we have breaks on the Def Leppard tour – we may throw in club dates with Man-Raze.”

I'm at my aunts for the next few days. I just needed to get out for a while and relax. So, I needed to get a phone card so I can call my friend in CA...er, now Seattle. So, what does this person do but, get me not one, not two, not three, but 20 yes 20 phone cards! He knows somebody that works at Marcs and got a deal on em. so, now I have a grand total of abouot 1350 minutes! un freakin real! The shit part about them is, they are only about 66 minutes per card. LOL.

I totally fogot about this situation until I was going down my posts and reading the comments. Thanks to Deb, I'll do this.

We didn't talk to the manager that day cause she "wasn't in" Atleas that's what we were told. So, one of the people I was with went back up there the next day to talk to the manager. Her soon to be husband knows her so, it was pretty easy. I don't think I'll be getting that laptop but, I might get some kinda certificit. If I don't get anything in a few weeks, I'm gonna tell the girl I was with and they'll probably go back up there. I told her that I'd like to get a laptop out of this whole mess and she pretty much told me that it was too much to ask. I kinda figured that myself but, i thought that was the least they could do after the crap I had to go through. So, I'll post more about this in a week or two with an update.

God they are ASSHOLES. I went there to pick up a few things today and had one of the guys help me find a CD I couldn't find. Since it wasn't his department, he went to find someone that WAS in that department. Fine. Well, the guy he found was a total ASS. the guy I found went to this guy and said "This gentalman needs help finding a CD" the guys response? *now keep in mind me and this guy are no more than 10 feet away from this other dude* "Tell him to bite me" WTF? my jaw droped and my eyes about flew out of my head. I'm going to send the manager of the store a letter tomorrow written by one of the head directors of Activities and see what I can get out of it. Hmm..Do you guys think I should try getting that laptop out of them that I've been wanting? or is that TOO much to ask? probably so but, I wanna stick it to this asshole. Thoughts appreciated!

Well, Friday my aunt got up to be at Walmart at 5 AM She was 12th in line and still missed getting one cause the damn store only had 10! They were sold out within 7 minutes! So, now I'm paying for internet that I can't even freaking use!

Had a blow up with my CA friend on Thanksgiving day and night. Didn't talk to her until Yesterday for the first time. Felt really weird. ALOT of hurtful things were said both ways. She seems like it's all past us now and we can go on. I hope so.

Ok, my opinions on the show last night. A.) Joe sounded like SHIT! B.) Um.. Did Phil think he was back in GIRL again last night? WTF was up with the eye liner? Awful. C.) Ok, ROA and FOOLIN'? good greif! I was expecting either NMW or Rock On to be played last night. I was totally surprised at what they did play.

I feel like a really bad person today. I think I've totally screwed up EVERYTHING with my friend in CA. It's my fault cause I'm the one with the personal problems and can't control my anger/temper. I've been trying with her but, it's not enough. I think I've totally lost her forever. If not, I'll be really surprised If this can be patched up.

I went to go look at that laptop Friday. Wednesday when I called the guy, he said he'd be open at NOON well, we got there at 10 til. Ok, so we had to wait ten minutes, right? WRONG. try 45 and he never opened! So, I called the guy when I got back and asked him when he opened. he told me that since it was a holiday, he didn't open til 1:00. Ok, why the hell didn't you tell me you were going to open at 1:00 Wednesday when I called idiot?!? I was rather pissed wasted most of my morning cause of this idiot.

I'm having a bit of a problem with my CA friend. Not sure what's gonna happen there. Hopefully something good but who knows.

Dentist

Well, I went to the Dentist today. My origional appointment was for a counciltation on my wisdom teeth. He decided to clean them and all that crap first. He didn't think I should have it done but, once I told him about me biting my cheeks all to hell when they flare up, he agreed with me. I have an appointment the 7th to get them all pulled. WEEE!

Well, I'm back from my aunts now. We had one hell of a weekend. One thing I forgot to mention about when I went home to get my amp and acustic....We have this one straight away going to my house, well, he decided he was going to open his car up a bit. He's got a 90something Beretta with a V6. We had that sucker up to 85 and 70 around corners! LMAO! Man am I glad I live in a place that doesn't have cops! Other than that, SOSDD pretty much. Had fun with the electrics last night! Nobody in that house even woke up! LOL. Tomorrow is Moms birthday so, we went out to dinner tonight. Olive Garden. Place is EXPENSIVE! 5 of us and it was a bit over $100.00

I'm beat. gonna probably go to bed soon. Eh, who am I kidding. I'll be up for a while. I didn't go to bed until around 4AM, and got up at 8, YEAH...

I got an electric guitar about 2 yrs ago for Christmas. I never played it really and then I ended up breaking the plug-in that goes to the guitar itself. Had my dad bring it to my aunts yesterday and had my cousin take it apart last night. We went out, got some parts and some extra needed things (about $40.00 total.) in a couple hours, I should be playing it. I'll have to use his amp though. My dad didn't bring mine for some dumb reason...Now If I knew someone that could give me lessons, I'd be even better!

Electric is up and running. Got my cousin to run me home and got my amp and my acustic guitar. Just have to restring that and We'll be back in business. I think the house is going to be loud tonight! Me, my cousin and his friend are planing to mess around on our electrics! *evil laugh*

I was talking to a friend of mine tonight, we got into a fight about something really stupid and now we aren't talking. Who knows, maybe we'll make up in a few days.

I started talking to this girl online Wednesday night. She's pretty cool. She's 21 and from Columbus. That's getting closer! LMAO! I've been totally flirting with her and she doesn't seem to mind it. Will anything happen? I doubt it but, I'm having fun talking to her for the time being.

10.20.2005 : It is quite common for various music releases to get an initial release date and then be postponed for a bit, but it's getting almost routine for Def Leppard (-related) releases: the "ROCK OF AGES" DVD will not be available on November 8, but on NOVEMBER 15. Hopefully you can hang in there with us for one more week....!

I'm depressed, I feel alone, I want to be around friends but, then I remember that all of my friends are hundreads of miles away. Makes me feel even worse. Nobody would want to be around today, I'd just bring them down to. Will I ever be happy totally with my life and things that happen in it? I honestly don't think I can be.

I guess you could say I'm also jealous of some of you guys that have met eachother. I know I'll never meet any of you. I feel lucky that I get to talk to the few of you that I do on the phone as little as it sometimes is. Theres only one of you that I consider to be my best friened. A friend I can call pretty much night or day and talk if I need to. I hope I'm always friends with that person. Because, If something ever happened that we weren't friends anymore. I was talking to that friend not long ago and told her that I truely believe that she is the only one that knows how much I look forward to doing things with people because of how rare it happens. She truely knows how much it means and I couldn't believe it. Made me feel even more close to her. I can only hope she feels the same way about me.

I wish I had the guts to talk more about how I grew up. I won't mention any names but, one of you guys made a post not quite a year ago that hit home to me hard. It was more the pics that wre posted that hit home harder.
